Uganda: Jahlive raising money for Danz Kumapeesa's hospital bills
A fundraising campaign to raise money for Ugandan music producer Daniel Mukisa, who is popularly known as Danz Kumapeesa, has been initiated by his employer, Jahlive Films. The 23 year old was attacked by thugs early last week and is now in hospital after undergoing surgery.
“The entire Jahlive family, together with the music fraternity, would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has positively contributed to the treatment of Danz Kumapeesa,” a statement released by Jahlive films reads.
“He underwent a successful operation and is responding to the doctor’s medication. However, due to the prevailing circumstances, we have organised a committee of credible people to account for the money sent from the public. We continue to humbly request for your financial support.”
Well-wishers are requested to send money to +254 (0)783220197 which is registered to Asha Kaaja. Until now the bill stands at $2 000 as the hospital demands about $150 per night.
Early on Tuesday last week, Mukisa was attacked at his home in Kampala by assailants who are believed to be members of the Kifeesi Goons, a notorious gang that has been terrorising residents in the Ugandan capital. He was found by his girlfriend after sustaining major head injuries. His friend Geoffrey Nkwanga, popularly known as Dokta Brain, said last week that Mukisa had suffered a cracked skull and was fighting for his life at Nsambya Hospital. The police are yet to release a statement about the attack.
Mukisa has produced bestselling Ugandan artists such as Bebe Cool, Winnie Nwagi, Irene Ntale, Fille and Eddy Kenzo.
