Uganda: Voting opens for 2019 UG Hip Hop Awards
The nominees of the third edition of the UG Hip Hop Awards have been announced ahead of the awards ceremony at the MTN-Tidal Warehouse in Kampala, Uganda, on 8 February.
The awards are organised by The Tribe UG, an online hip hop and marketing platform, in partnership with MTN Uganda. The event seeks to recognise artists who released the best hip hop in 2018.
“We are delighted to be back for the third edition of the hip hop awards,” The Tribe UG PR and marketing manager Felix Byaruhanga said.
“Twenty-eighteen was a competitive year as we saw some household names go all out in the industry. Additionally, we saw some fresh and underground talent come up to express themselves with some good vibes.”
Voting can be done by sending an SMS with the artist’s code (below) to 7197. Each SMS costs 220 Ugandan shillings ($5 cents).
