Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022: All the nominees

The nominees for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) were unveiled in Accra, Ghana, at the weekend ahead of the main event in May.

KiDi, Diana Hamilton, Black Sherif and Amaarae are among the nominees.

Now in its 23rd edition, the annual awards celebrate outstanding Ghanaian music makers across a number of genres, including highlife, Afropop, hiplife and traditional music. Awards will be presented in over 20 categories this year, including EP of the Year, Best Gospel Song, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year and Best Artist of the Year.

Kuami Eugene and KiDi lead this year’s nominations with 16 and eight nods respectively, followed by fast-rising star Black Sherif with eight. All three acts were also shortlisted in the coveted Artist of the Year category alongside King Promise, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle.
