Volume Three album: Pre-order to fund Ethiopian group to WOMEX

The group which is comprised of four Ethiopian traditional instrumentalists has been selected to perform a showcase concert at this year’s World Music Expo (WOMEX) in Poland set to take place this October. WOMEX is the most international music meeting in the world and the biggest music conference in the globe. Every October music professionals from more than 90 countries assemble at WOMEX making it the number one networking platform for the world music industry.

It is because of this reason that the group is asking its fans to fund their third album and their trip to Poland by Pre-ordering their third album Volume Three which is set for release early next year on FPE Records.

“We need your help to make the best of this opportunity. Until now, we have done everything ourselves. But in order to make dream a reality, we need to bring our supporters together” the group’s violinist Kaethe Hostetter said “Some of the funds raised will be used to cover international flights, lodgings, food, and incidentals while we are in Poland, promotional materials to give to people in the industry, as well as visa fees, and anything else that gets us there. A Part of the funds will also be used to pay for the mixing and mastering of our third album, as well as the artwork and graphic design of the album”.

Other group members are Messele Asmamaw who plays Lead Kirar, Anteneh Teklemarim, (Bass), Misale Legesse (Kebero) and Endris Hassen (Masinko). The group promises to present its take on a forgotten melody of the Blen tribe of Eritrea, a muscly version of a Gurage melody, as well as an epic wedding medley.
