Pappy Kojo
Bio
Born on 13 February 1989, Pappy Kojo (real name Jason Gaisie) was born and raised in Takoradi, Ghana. His interest and love for music began at an early age. His draws his musical influences from Obrafour, The Shady Aftermath Camp and Michael Jackson. He attended Ridge International School until 2004 and left for Italy to join his mother and siblings.
While in that country, he participated in locally organised rap shows characterised by artists such as Obrafour, Tic Tac, Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya and others.
When he left Ghana, his love for rap music grew prompting him cover popular songs and posting them on his YouTube channel. Shortly afterwards, he began recording his music with Italian music producers and Ghanaian based music producers. This created a little buzz for the young rapper. In 2014, he collaborated with Ghanaian superstar Joey B called on a song called ‘Wave’. Shortly afterwards, he released his debut single called ‘Realer No’ featuring Joey B. He went on to perform at an eviction party at South Africa’s Big Brother reality TV show. He is a three times nominee of the 2015 Video Ghana Music Awards where he won an award for the Hip-Hop Song of the year for the smash song ‘Realer No’.
He was also nominated for the Best Newcomer in Africa for the AFRIMMA Awards. He has released three singles since then. 'Ay3 Late', '2 Raw' ft Edem and 'Deja Vu' ft Jiggy.
