Call for applications: Music Managers Accelerator Programme UK

Artists, songwriters and producer managers based in the UK can apply for the 2021 Music Managers Accelerator programme.
A fully-funded initiative by the Music Managers Forum (MMF) and YouTube Music with support from Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and Scottish Music Industry Association, the programme is the first independent funding and capacity building programme tailored purposely for artists, songwriters and producer managers. It seeks to provide support, training and finance to music professionals from the region.
Deadline for application is 19 October.
The Music Managers Accelerator programme runs with five key targets including working as a key enabler for UK-based music management outfits while driving activity, artistic development, and investment, allowing blooming music managers to expand their capacity and creative reach within and beyond the UK, provide training and mentorship to the music management community in the region and work as a platform for professionals in the business of developing artists’ careers.
Who can apply?
- The applicant must be based in the UK.
- The applicant must be currently managing a least one artist, songwriter, DJ or producer. Artists can be based anywhere in the world and of any genre.
- The applicant must have been working as a manager for at the past least 18 months as a freelancer or a company their own. Applicants who have recently left a company you are still eligible to apply provided they have 18 months experience.
- The talent(s) that the applicant works with should have collectively had at least £20,000 (about €21 800) in gross income, including known pipeline income in the past year.
- Due to the impact of COVID-19, managers unable to meet the above criterion can provide records of additional income from the previous year must prove a minimum artist income of £20 000.
- Previously unsuccessful applicants to the programme are still eligible to apply, provided they meet the basic criteria.
How to apply?
The application process is in two phases; expression of interest and video application (14 September to 19 October). The first stage allows applicants to provide an overview of themselves and their work. The application form is available here .
The video application should be five minutes long and entail the following: how long the applicant has been operating as a manager, a bit about the they work with and how they came to work with them, achievement or success they have chalked in the past year, a time they have failed within the past year, abrief outline of your plans over the next two years as well as the reason they should be admitted into the 2021 Music Managers Accelerator programme.
