Afrodream
BIO
Afrodream is an afrobeat/pop project founded in Turin in 2018 from the meeting between Senegalese singer and percussionist Abou Samb and guitarist Luca Vergano. The group brings together musicians from Senegal, Argentina, Cameroon and Italy, creating a powerful and distinctive sound where African rhythms, jazz, funk and Western influences blend into an energetic and engaging musical dialogue. Afrodream’s music combines percussion, horns and evocative melodies, while Abou Samb’s lyrics tell stories of identity, migration, hope and humanity. The result is a series of intense and captivating live performances that transform the stage into a space for cultural exchange and collective celebration. Following the release of the EPs Afrodream (2018) and Jam Sa Sounè (2019), and their debut album La Teranga (2020), the band has continued to grow on the international scene, performing across Europe and appearing at major festivals such as Jazzahead, Roccella Jazz Festival, Saalfeld Jazz Festival, LAC Lugano and Glastonbury. With the new album “Guiss Guiss”, Afrodream further strengthens its musical identity, offering a journey through afrobeat, ethnojazz, tropical funk and global grooves. The record is an invitation to embrace diversity and build bridges between cultures, turning music into a space for connection, awareness and dance.
