Alongside his media career, Ngcayisa pursued higher education while working. He obtained a Bachelor of Communication Science from the University of South Africa (Unisa) in 2018 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Media Studies in 2024. Ngcayisa also contributes to conversations about the development of the creative economy. At ACCES, the Music In Africa Foundation’s music industry conference, he is listed as a broadcaster, communications strategist, moderator, programme director and SAMA 32 event producer. His participation connects his experience in media and communications with discussions about the structures and opportunities shaping the music business.
His professional journey reflects a career that has evolved from radio journalism into communications strategy and music event production. Through these roles, Ngcayisa operates across media, business and the creative industries, bringing broadcasting experience to the wider work of facilitating conversations and producing events within South Africa’s cultural sector.
