Big Sey
Bio
Ebrima Sey, best known by his stage name Big Sey, is a Gambian born reggae and dancehall artist living in Manchester, in the U.K. Big Sey started music at an early stage. He draws his musical inspiration from musicians such as Baba Maal, Ismael Lo and Luciano. He landed on the music scene in 2005 while in high school with the release of a maiden single titled ‘Hatred’.
He made another release of a single called ‘Bayil Buga Luyomba’ in 2010. It was followed by ‘Watch Yourself’ (2012). He relocated to the UK the following year and released the following singles: ‘Let Dance’, ‘You Are the Only One’ and ‘Music and Mbolo’.
Big Sey won an international Award at the 2014 TESCO'S Got Talent in Middleton Manchester, where he came out second out of 19 contestants. In 2015, he was voted second in the Gambia Artist Of the Year category by Interface Gambia in the U.K. The award was followed by the release of another single titled ‘Da System’ at Gambia Smiling Coast Records (GSC).
As of 2016, he was working on a debut album with GSC. The project will probably feature 10 to 15 tracks. It will be launched in The Gambia and the U.K. respectively. He also premiered a single titled ‘Sugar Baby’ on 17 April of that year. The song will feature on his upcoming album.
