Worldsgreatest is a Tolstoyan rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, music teacher, entrepreneur, mix martial artist, public speaker and writer. His love for art started with his love for music and spoken-word poetry around the mid-80s and early '90s. Fortunately, for him his father's large vinyl collection helped fuel the music gift even though his father never consented to the career choice. However, as an artist Worldsgreatest kept reinventing his brand and style and so kept changing his stage names until he arrived at Worldsgreatest in 2023. The name became official on May 10, 2023 when the Lucia album was released on all online streaming stores. According to him: "All those other names I ever existed as an artist are dead to me. Who I am today is Worldsgreatest, and that is all there is for the world to know or remember me as." Early Life Worldsgreatest hails from Ibaji L.G.A in Kogi State, Nigeria. He is of the Igala speaking tribe. Robert was born and raised in the slums of 146 Amphibious Battalion Eburutu Army Barracks Mammy Market, in Calabar with four of his siblings. His father is a tailor and the mother a house wife who supports the family by subsistent farming. Interestingly, Worldsgreatest is elder brother to Ball Trainer Frank John, African fast-rising basketball coach, and founder of Ball Trainer Skills Factory (BTSF). In kindergarten Robert was subject to mockery from his fellow classmates who knew he just entered school straight from the village. His father John Okwuteh made "education a must" for every member of his household even if it meant spending the last money on him. Robert attended Army Primary School Ikot Ansa, Calabar from 1989 to 1995 and his secondary years was with St. Patrick's College (SPC), Ikot Ansa, Calabar from 1996 to 2001. After his retrenchment in 2010, due to the then global economic recession, he decided never to work for anyone again and focus on his career as an artist-entrepreneur, full-time. According to him, "That banking job remains my financial university as far as being an entrepreneur goes." Description of Music / Influences He regarded as the greatest lyricist in the undergrounds and acclaimed "King of Hip-Hop". As the greatest storytelling musician of his time, Worldsgreatest music is a combination of Hip-Hop/Rap, Reggae, R&B, Afro, Folklore, social commentary, and Spoken Word. His influences include the likes of 2pac, Bob Marley, R. Kelly, Jimmy Cliff, Tracy Chapman, Majek Fashek, Oliver De Coque, Bob Dylan, Oriental Brothers, The Beatles, Maxwell Udoh, Victor Essiet & The Mandators, Wyclef Jean. Worldsgreatest combines the elements of education and entertainment to delivery witty verses presented with an elementary edge. He describes his delivery style as "The Phantom Punch" which is a combination of straightforward (2Pac), Rubik's Cube (Nas) and Daz-EFX (Jay-Z). When singing Worldsgreatest switches between Bob Marley's non-falsetto style and the soul touch of Jimmy Cliff and Majek Fashek. Media Quotes The Review of; Art of Music: Robert Price's Universal Field Guide to Become a Superstar Musician By; Amb., Dr. Frank Zedekiah Opunye (FMCDI) Musicologist/President/CEO, Hagonet Music Academy, PH City, Nigeria Dated: Monday, June 1, 2020 "In my little over 30-years of involvement with the great art of the muses, I have read and studied some books, and journals both online and hard copies but the book (Art of Music) stands out as a masterpiece on professional musicianship. The Art of Music as written by Robert Price is a "stand-alone" classic which I will like to call "The Musician's Bible". There is no doubt that this book will become the most widely read and used by individuals and institutions especially organizations and educational institutions offering music courses. The book is written in an easy to read language and it is well researched covering every possible aspect of the music industry and/or business from the Artist and his work to the production process, the legal, marketing and to the final consumer and his preferred genre. It will be a deliberate sin and suicidal crime against your musical career no to have this book handy at all times as an artiste." "His music is not just some mere entertainment even though he does try to entertain most times. His music is Reality Music. It may be radio friendly in terms of clean lyrics but too big to play on air. It has the power to start a revolution."
- Last Prophet Otwe-twe (OAP, Hit 95.9 FM, Calabar)
"Lyrically, I put him in the same class with 2pac, Nas, J. Cole, Jay-Z, Kendrick, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and all the great lyricists there is in our musical galaxy. I mean this guy kind of built a legacy underground already before he blew up."
- Sanctus "Preach" Achu (Nigerian Poet)
Personal Quotes - "The music is not just in me. It is me." - "Pursue knowledge and fame before fortune my friend!" - "In my personal experience, money don't produce success. What does is Effort." - "I know that I am intelligent because I know I know nothing." - "I am motivated by the quest for the TRIUMPHANT LIFE, which according to Walter Russell is, “...is that which places what a man gives to the world in creative expression far ahead of that which he takes from it of the creation of others."
