BIO

CDQ is a Nigerian rapper based in Lagos. Born Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, the rapper began a foray into music in 2002. In 2009, he performed for an audience having respected rappers MI and the late Da Grin in attendance, as well as Jesse Jagz, DJ Jimmy Jatt and singer Wizkid.

In 2009, he won a rap-battle staged at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. The victory brought him promotion on Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos. And in the audience was producer Masterkraft. The producer later signed him to his General Records label and in 2013, his debut single for the label, Saula, was released. Other singles have followed including, 'Wobi' and 'Ogini' (with Runtown). His visibility increased with the Masterkraft song 'Indomi' which had him exchange verses with rapper Olamide.

CDQ is working on his debut album.
