NEFCISA

The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. Promote South African creativity at both provincial and national levels Foster community development through social contribution.

Sound Connects Fund

For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

BIO

Mike David Mwanza (born January 25), better known by his stage name D-Mike, is a Zambian Christian hip-hop rapper, theologian, entrepreneur, teacher, and sales and marketing professional.

At a young age, Mike was a hip-hop dancer, but later on, in junior high school, he developed a passion for music. He started out listening to Christian rap artists like Flame, Lecrae, Shai Linne, 116, and a host of others. Though it was hard to balance school and music, Mike’s passion found him writing music during class lessons and at break-time in 2011. Even before he was saved, Mike tried to fit in both the secular and gospel music worlds, a move he later learned was not a good one as his friends and producers advised him to pick a side.
Inconsistent with producers between 2011 and 2014, Mike has worked with Sukari from Sugar Bow Empire, Izu from 808 Music, Ricor No Doubt from Turn Up Music, and Dj Dro . However, currently, D-Mike is affiliated with a record label called Eastside 25.

Mike got saved in 2018, on July 29th, at Kafue Reformed Baptist Church, and recalls that before that, the journey through life was rough. Today, he is passionate about reaching out to people in the streets, in schools, and in prisons using music and his voice.

In this day and age, he is inspired by artists like Shai Linne, Evangel, Mike-Real, Json, Beautiful Eulogy, Alex Faith, Christ Centric, and Lamp Mode.
Mike is a teacher by profession with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary School Education in the School of Natural Sciences and Philosophy of Religion from Zambia Open University. He is also a theologian from Lusaka Ministerial College (DP), a preacher, and a political public speaker.
Mainstream breakthrough (2012–2016)
D-Mike initially released his first single under 808 Music on September 7, 2019, following a protracted period of quiet in the music industry. (New Man), a song produced by Izu and starring Christ Avenue and Sukari. Therefore, "New Men" is a hymn of adoration and gratitude to God for his unwavering love and constancy. The story of D-Mike's path toward salvation—both past and present—is told in this song.
Soli Deo Gloria, the second track from D-Mike's first episode, which was presented by Izu (808 Music), was released on December 20, 2019. His second track, which became widely popular on radio stations and in public spaces, is regarded as his breakthrough into mainstream Christian hip-hop music. The song includes Andy P, Josh Thee, and Sukari. (Sukari was a contributor to the production.).
D-Mike released additional songs from his extended play Soli Deo Gloria (Ep), which was scheduled to be released on January 31, 2021: The brilliantly crafted song "Sola Fide" (meaning "by faith alone"), with Christ Avenue, Rastel, and Chantel, was released on June 20, 2020. Let the Redeemed Say So, featuring Destro FNP, Sukari, and Suckle Mw, was released on October 16, 2020, supported by Eastside 25 and the Still Jesus Movement, and produced by Izu from 808 Music.
D-Mike released "Soli Deo Gloria," which translates to "To God alone be the glory," as an extended play (EP) on January 31, 2021. The de facto motto of the Reformation is comprised of these sentences. With the release of his Soli Deo Gloria EP, which premiered on HolyCulture.net, D-Mike became the first Christian hip-hop musician from Zambia to receive recognition. The globe has been receiving the greatest Christian hip-hop and urban gospel via Holy Culture, a Christian hip-hop platform, since 1997. Holy Culture Radio features Christian hip-hop and urban gospel (R&P) music from both indie and well-known musicians worldwide, streamed continuously. Weekly mix programs with various DJs, artist interviews, and other content are all part of their programming. The Chh. Community Group and ipraythenetwork supported the Ep, and the most well-known Chh DJs include Dj Mike 5 and Elder E.
D-Mike released another masterpiece on March 24, 2023, that features Malawian heavyweight hip-hop artist C-Scripture and Sukari from Lusaka, entitled "I Won't Let Go," a well-crafted gospel rap song. Given the increase in suicide instances, murder cases, soul trading, and several other difficulties in real life,
D-Mike released the single "Hypocrisy" on October 29, 2022. It was produced by DJ Dro and includes Masomphenya, A.J. Rhymez, and Buxie, of course. Masomphenya from Malawi described in the first verse the journey of a youth pastor who lives as a hypocrite in church and plays around with hidden sin; Buxie Echos a Hard Hook, in the second verse, spoke of a pastor who is hiding in sin and tends to be a hypocrite who loves sin as he grows older; in the end, he begs for mercy; and A.J. Rhymez from South Memphis, TNC, described in the last verse, Seeks Repentance, described in terms of a young person who is pursuing influence and living a fake life among his peers; after the crowd leaves, beneath the shadow of his transgression, the young person is stuck and lost.
