Illa Pen Boy

BIO

Illa Pen Boy is a well-known musician from Manzini, Swaziland whose career in music started with the The Last Page (TLP). He is a talented musician who practices the skill of rhyming in vernacular rap. His music involves various elements from various musical backgrounds. It includes street-talk and highly influential messages in Siswati and English. He brings a different flavor and sound, not only to this type of music but also to the hip-hop scene. One of his objectives is to encourage and inspire an international appeal into Swazi music.

In 2012, he formed a group with Mpendulo Gamendze & Msizi called The Last Page popular known as TLP. The group released an album called ‘Just In Time’ which won The Best New Comer at the 2007 Tihlabani Awards.

He went solo and launched his maiden album ‘Ekse Ntwanakonakele’ at The Gallery. In 2015, he was nominated in the SPTC Popular Artist of the Year category at the National Arts and Culture Awards (NACA). In that same year, he collaborated with Theme, a South African hip-hop star based in Durban.

Besides music, he owns local design called Imitsanyelo we Fashion.
