Norwegian trio a-ha will perform at the Green Point A Track in Cape Town and at Marks Park, Emmarentia in Johannesburg on 14 February and 15 February 2020, respectively.
In celebration of their 35th anniversary in music, the multi award winners will perform songs from ‘Take On Me’, ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’, ‘Crying In The Rain’, ‘Stay On These Roads’ among many others.
In Cape Town, a-ha will be supported by local musicians such as Grassy Spark, Sean Koch and The World of Birds, and in Johannesburg: Ard Matthews, Absinthè, James Deacon and Werner Bekker.
Their debut album Hunting High And Low, which sold 11 million copies worldwide, earned the UK-born triplets a number of impressive accolades during their careers.
The band also holds the Guinness World record for the largest paying audience of 196 000 at the Maracana football stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in 1992, surpassing George Michael, Prince and Guns N' Roses who only amassed 60 000 each.
The show forms part of the global ‘a-ha play Hunting High And Low live’ tour and will be the first time since 1994 that the band is visiting South Africa.
