09 Jul 2026 - 12:52
The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC), in partnership with Paradise Sound System, has announced Bantu Calling as the 2026 edition of Searching for Paradise, an annual collaborative music initiative aimed at connecting African artists with international creative opportunities.
The latest edition is led by UK-based Nigerian-Ugandan artist, producer and DJ HARUNA (pictured).
The latest edition is led by UK-based Nigerian-Ugandan artist, producer and DJ HARUNA, whose work combines African musical traditions with contemporary electronic music. According to the organisers, the initiative seeks to promote collaboration, cultural exchange and cross-border creativity among artists from different backgrounds.
Released through Paradise Sound System, Bantu Calling is a four-track EP featuring South African singer Thuso Wa Sibini, producer DarkFace and guitarist Obe 380. The title track appears in three versions: the original vocal recording, an instrumental version and a remix by South African producer Mr. Norble Guy.
The EP also includes Saturn Return, an original composition by HARUNA that draws inspiration from South African house music, the 3-Step genre and UK club culture.
Since its launch, Searching for Paradise has served as an annual creative project linked to ARMC, bringing together artists from across the continent and beyond to produce original music while fostering international artistic collaborations.
Speaking about the project, HARUNA said the initiative provides opportunities for artists to exchange ideas and musical influences.
"Searching for Paradise is about creating spaces for collaboration and allowing different musical experiences and influences to meet. Bantu Calling reflects that journey. It's about connection, movement and celebrating the ways African music continues to evolve and inspire."
According to the organisers, Bantu Calling explores themes of identity, movement and cultural exchange while highlighting collaboration between artists working across different musical traditions and geographical regions.
The organisers said Searching for Paradise was established as an annual initiative of the Africa Rising Music Conference to create opportunities for African artists through music production, collaboration and international partnerships. Each edition results in original releases through Paradise Sound System while facilitating creative exchanges between African musicians and artists from other parts of the world.
