Akon for Nairobi Airtel Trace Music Star grand finale

American superstar of Senegalese heritage, Akon, real name Aliaune Damala Thiam, will be jetting into Nairobi on Friday 27 March for the Airtel Trace Music Star Pan African Grand Finale.
The event takes place on Saturday the 28th at the Enashipai Resort and Spa in Naivasha. At stake is a recording deal, promotion and mentorship campaign worth $500, 000.
Accompanying Akon is Devyne Stephens, the music mogul who discovered him. The winner of the competition will be crowned at the event. Kenya will be represented by Benjamin Webi, who will be competing against the winners from Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Madagascar, Nigeria, Malawi, Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Ghana, Gabon and DR Congo.
Besides Akon and Devyene Stephens the other judge will be Lynnsha, a multi-platinum artist from the French Caribbean. Voting by the public closes on March 25.
