Asake performs M$NEY live for first time at London concert

The invite-only event, presented in partnership with Spotify, was attended by family members, friends and selected Spotify listeners. It marked the first live performance of material from the album since its release in May.

During the concert, Asake was accompanied by a live orchestra and performed tracks from M$NEY alongside four previously unreleased songs. The performance was filmed, with a concert film scheduled for release on Spotify at a later date.

M$NEY has achieved commercial success since its release, topping streaming charts in more than 19 countries, including Nigeria, and reaching number eight in the United States. The album explores themes of gratitude, prosperity, spirituality and ambition through Asake’s blend of Afrobeats and melodic influences.

Following the album's performance on streaming platforms, Asake was ranked 15th among digital artists globally by music analytics platform Kworb Data.

The London concert is the latest milestone in the career of the two-time Grammy-nominated artist, whose music combines elements of fújì, Afropop and amapiano with Yoruba-inspired storytelling.

Asake first gained international attention with his debut album, Mr. Money With the Vibe, released in 2022. He followed it with Work of Art and Lungu Boy, both of which produced several commercially successful singles.

His 2024 Lungu Boy world tour included sold-out performances at venues such as Madison Square Garden and The O2.

Asake has received Grammy nominations for Best African Music Performance for the songs amapiano, featuring Olamide, and MMS, featuring Wizkid.
