Call for applications: Bayimba Foundation programme coordinator in Uganda

The Bayimba Foundation is seeking a self-driven programme coordinator to join the arts organisation in Kampala, Uganda.
The successful candidate will manage, coordinate and oversee the planning, implementation, and marketing of the DOADOA performing arts market, the Amakula Film Festival, the Kampala International Theatre Festival and the Bayimba International Festival of the Arts.
Skills
- Fluency in English.
- Practical interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving, conflict, ethical management skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Interest in and passion for the arts, with an ability to recognise talent (experience in visual and performing arts).
- Flexibility during work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field.
- A minimum of three years’ progressive project management and coordination experience on local and international projects.
- Preferably someone who has knowledge and experience working in the arts and creative industry.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare programme line-up for the festivals in close cooperation with the general manager, the finance officer and the artistic director.
- Prepare and participate in the selection of artists for the festivals.
- Plan and coordinate logistical arrangements for participating artists (contracts, transport, accommodation).
- Ensure correct artist handling (satisfaction and safety) during the festivals.
- Work closely with other individual programmers of festivals to ensure that they are well executed.
- Think of other programmes that may facilitate the Bayimba Foundation’s growth.
- Prepare artists’ profiles for publicity/media purposes and technical riders for performances.
