South African performing arts organisation the Playhouse Company is calling on KwaZulu-Natal artists who are performing at the 2018 edition of the National Arts Festival (NAF) to apply for assistance.
The deadline for submissions is 9 March. The NAF will be held in Grahamstown, South Africa, from 28 June to 8 July.
The application process is open to artists who have already been registered and approved to perform at the NAF’s Fringe, which is an open-access programme at the festival.
There are no restrictions for the genre of productions that will be supported.
Interested candidates need to email a comprehensive motivation letter to [email protected].
The email should include the following:
- Approved reference number from the NAF.
- Confirmed performance dates, venue and times.
- Detailed proposal about the production to be staged.
- Information regarding the production company, including its history.
- A letter of reference.
- Support material about their company’s previous work would be an advantage.
Selected artists will be supported with return ground transport, per diem and a production poster.
All selected artists will be invited to showcase their production at the Playhouse in Durban on 4 May.
