The organisers of the 15th edition of the M for Montreal music conference and festival in Canada have published an international call for artists interested in showcasing at the event on 18-21 November 2020.
Each year, M for Montreal brings together about 300 professionals for meetings, conferences, workshops and showcases. An application fee of Can$40 (about US$30) is required for each applicant. The fee will be reimbursed if the artist or group is not selected.
The application deadline is 1 June 2020.
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be artists who wish to develop their career on a national and international level.
- Have a representative, a commercialised album, a few shows, a music video, and a good Facebook fan base.
Requirements
- A short biography.
- Music tracks.
- Photos.
- Updated press kit.
Interested artists can submit their applications the an online form here.
Selection process
- Once the application is submitted, the primary contact will receive a confirmation email.
- The preselection committee will then analyse the applications and award a score based on originality, artistic quality and career development of the group/artist.
- The artists with the highest scores will then be submitted to the programming team, which will send out the official invitations.
Note: M for Montreal will provide the performance fee but applicants will be required to cater for their travel and accommodation.
