Call for applications: Music competition in Austria

According to the official website, "Academia Musica is supposed to be a liaison between musicians who stand between their education and their professional entry."

Held annually, the competition seeks to reward musicians of all ages in the following categories:

Classical music

• Category of musicians born after 1 January 2006 (maximum of five minutes).
• Category of musicians born after 1 January 2002 (maximum of five minutes).
• Category of musicians born after 1 January 1998 (maximum of seven minutes).

Folks Music

• Category of musicians born after 1 January 2006 (maximum of five minutes).
• Category of musicians born after 1 January 2002 (maximum of five minutes).
• Category of musicians born after 1 January 1998 (maximum of seven minutes).

Composition

Composers can submit works for:

• Solo Instruments (maximum of 10 minutes).
• Chamber music (maximum of six players).

• Project description/ scores

Prizes

The overall winning musician will receive €500 (about $560) while the best composer will be rewarded with €250. The three best participants in each category will each receive a medal and diploma certificate.

The application deadline is 10 October 2019 and interested individuals will be expected to pay a €50 registration fee.
