Call for applications: Pro Helvetia studio residency for Arab countries

Pro Helvetia Cairo is calling on Arab and Swiss artists, curators and cultural practitioners to apply for studio residencies in 2021.
The residency aims to find inspiration, establish networks and contemplate new projects and networks.
Pro Helvetia will provide successful artists with a studio residency of up to three months. The opportunity will also give artists a chance to gain broad insight into a different cultural environment.
The Swiss arts council has opened the call to Arab artists, curators and cultural practitioners in the following disciplines:
- Music
- Literature
- Theatre
- Dance
- Visual arts
Artists, curators and cultural practitioners from the following Arab countries are eligible to apply:
- Egypt
- Lebanon
- Morocco
- Tunisia
Swiss artists, curators and cultural practitioners can also apply for residencies in the above-mentioned countries.
The selection criteria include:
- Convincing professional track record.
- Clear and contextually relevant motivation.
- Relevant and adequate language skills (English, French and/or German).
Pro Helvetia will offer the following to the selected applicants:
- A place to work
- Accommodation
- Specific coaching
- Travel costs
- Insurance
- Per diem.
The application deadline is 1 March 2020.
Applications must be written in English and submitted via the Pro Helvetia official website.
