Call for registration: Music workshop in Soweto

The GOGO Music Industry Workshop is intended to provide insight into the music business by tapping into the knowledge and experience of established musicians, managers and industry insiders.

The workshop, which takes place from 10am to 6pm, is also designed to give upcoming musical talent the opportunity to engage with top industry representatives.

The registration fee is R30 and interested individuals can register by sending an email to [email protected].

The workshop will cover the following topics:

• Contracts, copyright and other music related law
• Artist development, artist management and social media
• Music production
• Songwriting
• Music in the digital age and its distribution.
• Media, radio and entertainment as career options

It will also feature a DJ workshop and demo listening session. The workshop will be followed by an after party at RockerFella Lounge from 7pm to 2am. The event will feature DJ Christos, Bob Mabena, Vinny Da Vinci, Ralf Gum and Kid Fonque. Other artists include Chymamusique, Sir LSG, Lady Sakhe, Ayanda Jiya and Kaiser Khoza.
