Call for submissions: Global remix competition for DJs and producers

The competition forms part of the next phase of Originals², a global campaign by Beatport and Microsoft Surface that connects emerging artists with the latest technology products and services.

Four winners will be awarded with a prize pack worth up to $10 000 including Beatport and Microsoft Surface products, an exclusive trip to the 2022 International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza, Spain, and an opportunity to share the stage with the duo during IMS, among other prizes.

How it works

Beatport and Microsoft Surface are challenging musicians of all abilities to remix Giolì & Assia’s single ‘Inside Your Head’. The remixes will be judged by a panel of experts, including Giolì & Assia.

To enter the contest, interested participants can download the stems for the song here, use any Loop Cloud sample and submit their remix.

The submission deadline is 7 March at 9.59am CAT.

Prizes

The winners will be guests at the Originals² Academy as part of IMS College. They will be given access to panels, training and the latest technology. Using the Beatport DJ app on Surface Laptop Studios, the winners will perform a world-first four-person B2B set alongside Giolì & Assia in Ibiza, which will be streamed via Beatport’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Each winner’s prize package will include:

• A Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio, slim pen and headphones.
• A year subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal, Beatport LINK and Loopcloud Pro accounts.
• A delegate badge for the IMS and the IMS College Powered By Beatport, Microsoft Surface and Point Blank Music School in Ibiza, taking place from the week starting 25 April.
• Participation in a livestream from Ibiza with the three other winners, alongside Gioli & Assia, using the Beatport DJ App’s Party Mode feature, which enables up to four DJs to collaborate on real-time sets from different locations.
• A pair of Hedd MK2 Monitors.
• Plugin Boutique VST instrument and tools selections including Bass Master and KHORDS, among others.
