Popular beverage company Coca-Cola Nigeria has embarked on the Leggo Challenge.
A song and fandom contest, the Leggo Challenge follows the recording of an official song commemorating the partnership between the beverage company and the English Premier League.
The former is being advertised as the official soft drink partner for the popular football competition and its initial campaign had featured a song titled ‘Leggo’ which included verses by a number of Nigerian pop acts.
These acts include Burna Boy, Mayorkun, Kizz Daniel, Zoro and Small Doctor, each representing and supporting a top team English team: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea respectively, all popular clubs among Nigeria's football fans. The campaign’s choreography was designed by celebrated dancer Kaffy.
“For the love of football, we dedicate the #Leggo song to all football fans out there,” the beverage company said in a tweet.
Coca-Cola has now opened up the campaign to those fans. Under a new instruction from the company, fans can now record their own verses on the campaign’s beat.
To join in, interested individuals are asked to do the following:
- Upload a video on Instagram featuring a verse in support of an English Premier League team.
- Tag @CocaCola_ng on Instagram.
- State location.
- State the club being represented.
- Use these hashtags: #LeggoNaijaSong #LeggoSongChallenge.
“If you’ve got the creative juice, then you should represent your club by dropping a verse...download the beat in bio to drop your own verse and be a part of the #Leggo Song challenge,” Coca-Cola posted.
