Dave Koz to return to South Africa for January 2027 concerts

Koz will perform at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town on 23 January, followed by a concert at SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria on 24 January. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 28 August 2026, through Webtickets, with prices starting at R595 (about $37), excluding booking fees.

The tour will feature music from Koz’s three-decade career, including material from his contemporary jazz catalogue and live performances of fan favourites.

“Being truly one of the most favourite spots on the globe, I simply cannot wait to return to South Africa this January for concerts in Jo’burg and Cape Town,” Koz said. “The best audiences in the world can be found in these two cities … and I promise those who come to the show a musical memory for the ages. Koz is a multiple Grammy Award nominee and platinum-selling recording artist who has released 12 albums that have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. He has also hosted a syndicated radio programme and performed on international tours, including Christmas and Summer Horns shows.

He has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

Walker will accompany Koz on both South African dates. The musician spent more than two decades as musical director, bassist and co-vocalist for jazz singer Al Jarreau, until Jarreau’s death in 2017. His earlier collaborations include work with Ornette Coleman, Art Blakey, Bob James and Cassandra Wilson, while he has also served as musical director for Regina Belle.

Walker has released solo material that has produced Top 5 R&B singles and has maintained a longstanding connection with South African audiences.
