French-born music streaming service Deezer recently announced that it had introduced lyrics on Chromecast.
Through the new service, which is available to free and paid subscribers, users can now view lyrics on cast-enabled TV screens.
The move expands Deezer's reach within casting technologies, which give users the ability to fling content from a mobile device to a TV and control it from the hand device.
Lyrics can be displayed by tapping the cast icon in the Deezer app and selecting the Chromecast-approved device.
"Music listening has become a multi-device experience,” Deezer chief product and growth officer Stefan Tweraser said. “One day you're in the mood for lyrics on the big screen, the next you're playing music on loud speakers. Now, with Chromecast, it's not an either-or situation."
The new tool enhancers user functionality such as letting them answer phone calls or play games while listening to music or podcasts.
Lyrics on cast is available on Android, but Deezer says free iOS subscribers will have to wait a few more weeks to access the service.
