Discover amazing SA talent at MusicXwords concert on 29 October

The online event forms part of the MusicXwords initiative, which aims to facilitate interdisciplinary exchange between musicians and spoken word artists in South Africa.

The concert will feature performances from 10 local acts, with the participants taking this opportunity to showcase their talents to bookers from different festivals in Europe and Africa. After the the conclusion of the digital showcase, a minimum of five acts will be selected to perform at European festivals in 2022.

The 10 acts performing on the night are Amaza, ANGELYRIC_PG13, Bonj, Flex of He & I, Khayalethu, Luh'ra, Modise Sekgothe, Mogale Sedibe, Thembelihle Dunjana and Wandile Mbambeni.

The participants come from 105 applications that were sent to the MIAF between August and September 2021, and the top 10 were selected by a jury comprising well-known industry professionals including Maneo Mohale, Goodenough Mashego and Roshnie Moonsamy.

The event will be broadcast live from Soda Studio in Johannesburg via the Music In Africa Facebook page.

About the Delegation of the European Union to South Africa

About the Cultural Relations Platform
