Upcoming Congolese singer and songwriter Rayo has unveiled his new single ‘Aliyah’. The song, released on the KSound label is now available for streaming and download.
‘Aliyah’ boasts a combination of Rayo’s powerful, dreamy vocals, endearing lyrics and a message of love, with the production skilfully blending various African genres such as rumba, soukous and Afrobeats with Western pop influences.
The accompanying video is a visual representation of Rayo’s musical vision, showcasing his talent and dedication to his craft and African heritage.
Commenting on the single, Rayo, who hails from Goma in the eastern part of the DRC, said: “’Aliyah’ is a therapy for the hearts and a delight to the ears.”
On ‘Aliyah’, the singer declares his love for his partner, placing her on a pedestal and reassuring her that in spite of any challenges that may arise, their love will never be shaken.
Rayo’s interest in music dates back to his childhood. In 2015, while in college, he joined a hip hop group called Nation, which he was a part of until last year when he decided to pursue a solo singing career after signing with KSound.
