Ebrima Sey, a UK based Wa Sa Halat award winning Gambian artiste is expected to launch his debut album called ‘Nenang’ meaning (Mother) comprised of ten tracks on 8th June, 2019 in Manchester Central Hall, Oldham Street.
Organised by his label BEURSELF MUSIC the album launching will featured Gambian artistes across Europe include Singhateh Rise, Mandingmorry, Bai Babou, Lym Bo, Amie Cherry, Dr. Shaka of Born Africans, Jali Kebba Susso and Nu Chilly. The album is produced by GSC Records in UK the album is dedicated to all mothers around the globe. The will following another launching in Gambia in January.
Ebrima Sey, told journalists that all is set so they deem it necessary to start the promotion in Gambia because is here his career starts.
“So we want to connect from here down to UK to promote the event, so am also shooting two videos from the album in The Gambia,” double award winning foreign based artiste of the year in 2017-18 said.
He pointed that this album is mainly focus on Gambian community in UK Afrobeat, Kora, drum and Afrobeat but next album which he starts working on will be focus on UK based genre like hip-hop.
He explained that he is also doing a charity work helping kids disable people in collaborations with UK based Gambia charity worker called Amie Jarju who is currently building a maternity unit and she introduce him to a orphanage .
He added that: “What motivate me when the lady show me pictures and how this people are going through, so I deem it vital to contribute my quota in providing them some kids clothes, adults clothes and some food stuffs, because I start rough like them, having nothing before, so when this lady told me to involve in giving back to the community, so I was so convince to share a little I have with them to make them happy,”.
Sey said this lady dedicated her life in supporting Gambians, so he decided to join her in making it happen for the country and humanity around the globe.
