Emerging Naija act Eli Jae releases Me and You single

Released via Squareball Entertainment in collaboration with ONErpm, the track is taken from the singer’s sophomore EP, due later this year.

Produced by Dalorbeats (Davido, P-Square), and engineered by Biano (Rema, Ayra Starr and Tiwa Savage), ‘Me & You’ blends soulful R&B with Afrobeats, and addresses themes of love and intimacy.

The song is driven by Eli’s velvety vocals and lyrics that harmonise beautifully with a guitar and percussion-led musical backdrop.

“With ‘Me & You’, I wanted to craft a song that not only celebrates the beauty of love, and the connections that bind us but also one that evokes a sense of joy and romance in everyone who hears it,” Eli Jae said about the record.

“With ‘Me & You’, Eli Jae continues to establish himself as an exciting new voice in global music, as he captivates fans and critics alike with his special fusion of R&B and Afrobeats sounds, a statement adds. “Whether it is winning hearts and minds online with his popular ‘Jae Mondays’ cover series that sees him reworking popular hits from the likes of Usher, Giveon and Silk Sonic in true scene-stealing fashion, or his own original music, characterised by heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies, Eli Jae has consistently demonstrated his unique artistry and undeniable talent as a standout musician and performer.”

Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Eli Jae cites Afrobeat iconoclast Fela Kuti as a key influence, admitting to also being seeped in ’90s hip hop, R&B and gospel. In September 2023, he released his debut EP Blend, which was met with rave reviews from fans and critics alike, with its standout tracks ‘Most Beautiful’ garnering over half a million streams, and ‘You’ going viral on TikTok with over a million views.
