Felabration has announced the winners of its Afrobics Dance Competition held at the New Afrika Shrine, in Lagos, Nigeria at the weekend.
The event, which was presented by DJ Bola Browne and Yeni Kuti, saw eighteen finalists (three added to the number announced earlier) competing for top honours.
Art Castle Academy were announced the winners and received 250 000 NGN ($700). The Kings and Queens dance group are the first runner-up and took home 150 000 naira. Ennovate Dance House came third and received 75 000 naira.
"Thank you to our judges for their professionalism, knowledge and experience," a post from the Felabration Facebook page reads.
Other participants included Ultimate Stepperz Dance House, Kalakuta Klan, Maim Smarshh fam, Classic Femmes, Jonzin, Starkids (winners of the maiden edition). Performances ranged from impersonations of Fela and theatrical elements that added multiple story lines. Fela’s 1976 song 'Zombie' was the most popular soundtrack in the first round.

14 October – Felabration 2019 Music Concert, New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja.
