The EP Osan by guitarist Fiokee featuring Teni and DJ Coulbon has been released with the video premiered on Youtube on 13 March.
The ‘Osan’ single released in January and produced by DJ Coulbon started the year on a high note for Fiokee. Fiokee delivers different varieties of Osan in a three-track combo: ‘Osan acoustic version’, ‘Osan Unplugged’ and ‘Osan Urban/Trap version’.
‘Osan’ (orange in Yoruba) has the award-winning songstress, Teni (whose theatrics and colourful lyrics of love, drama and hope is a winner with fans) take the lyrics from start to finish in a sing-along style talking love and praising Lagos with the famous Eyo masquerade set on Fiokee's signature guitar playing style. The song looks to be an anthem.
Over the years Fiokee has proven to be one of Afrobeats finest performers, he has strummed his way into the hearts of music lovers around the continent and beyond. His fusion of highlife and afro-pop results in some of the great rhythms that have taken over airplay in the West African region.
Fiokee has collaborated with artists that include Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Reekado Banks, Adekunle Gold, Flavour, Simi, Kiss Daniel, and many others. The rhythmic sound of his guitar in Reekado Banks’ 2017 hit ‘Like’ featuring Tiwa Savage remains outstanding.
Real name Ifiok Effanga, Fiokee had a successful 2019, he remastered ‘Dumebi’ featuring Davido and Peruzzi and ‘Oja’ (Visualizer) ft. Skiibii, Masterkraft, Dj Neptune and Jay Pizzle JAY alongside several other works.
Fiokee plans to take music lovers on a journey of great sounds and creativity in this EP. He brings the vibe to a whole new level. The musical interpretation of these songs will keep his fans wanting more, further cementing his place in the top echelons of afrobeats.
