Ghana: Gyakie announces new single Unconditional ahead of debut album

Blending Afro-fusion rhythms with emotionally charged lyrics, ‘Unconditional’ showcases Gyakie’s signature blend of melodic richness and lyrical vulnerability. Produced by Afrolektra, the track is both danceable and deeply personal.

The release not only cements Gyakie’s position as one of Africa’s leading young voices but also offers a glimpse into the themes of love, identity, and honesty that will shape her upcoming album.

‘Unconditional’ sets the stage for the rollout of After Midnight, Gyakie’s debut full-length album. Official details, including the pre-order and album artwork, will be announced in early August. The album promises a genre-fluid exploration of love and introspection through a late-night lens.

The campaign builds on the momentum of ‘Sankofa’, released in May, which has gone viral on TikTok with over 350 000 user-generated videos to date. The song currently sits at No. 2 on Ghanaian radio and No. 21 in Nigeria, with its official music video ranking at No. 2 on Nigerian television.

Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong, is a Ghanaian Afro-R&B singer-songwriter known for her soulful storytelling and genre-blending sound. Since her breakout in 2020, she has gained acclaim across Africa and beyond for her captivating voice, introspective lyrics, and tranquil style.
