The track heralds Medikal’s new album Planning and Plotting, and is available for streaming and download across all major digital streaming platforms.
Produced by Fresh VDM, the track represents luxury and opulence, its lyrics delving into themes of success, ambition and the pursuit of greatness, mirroring the artists’ own journeys in the music industry. Through their verses, Medikal and Mayorkun invite listeners to join them on a journey towards achieving their dreams.
“‘Balenciaga’ stands out as a testament to the power of cross-cultural collaboration,” a statement reads. “Mayorkun’s smooth vocals complement Medikal’s fiery verses, creating a harmonious blend that transcends borders and resonates with listeners on a profound level.
“The track effortlessly bridges the gap between Nigeria and Ghana, two powerhouses in the African music scene, showcasing the shared cultural and musical heritage that unites these nations.”
Comprising 14 songs, Planning and Plotting guests fellow Ghanaian artists Shatta Wale, Ofori Amponsah and Bisa KDei, as well as UK rapper Headie One, among others.
The rapper’s team says the project will showcase Medikal’s ability to navigate various musical genres. “The album’s diverse range of collaborations and the stellar production quality serve as a testament to Medikal’s dedication to creating music that transcends boundaries.”
