Ghana Music Awards UK releases list of nominees

The event, which will take place at Gaumont Palace in London, seeks to recognise the accomplishments of Ghanaian musicians in Ghana and the UK.

This year the list of nominees is dominated by the late popstar Ebony, who passed on in February after an accident. Her nominations include two inclusions in the Song of the Year category with 'Aseda' and 'Date Your Father'.

She is also nominated in the Artist of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year categories. In the Best Female Vocalist category, she is up against, among others, three famous singers Adina, Becca and Efya.
