Ghanaian rapper Bryan The Mensah has released a new EP titled Detour. The collection is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
Composed of five songs, the new project follows 2021’s Road To Hastafari. It explores the themes of heartbreak, growth and transformation, inviting listeners to embark on a journey through the various facets of love.
The artist said the record is a departure from his initial target audience and goal, adding that the shift reflects his evolving artistic direction.
“At its core, the project imparts a powerful message of self-discovery within the tapestry of relationships,” a statement reads. “With his producer OkaiWav, Bryan skillfully weaves this theme into tracks like ‘Finally’, ‘If I Love You’, and the previously released single ‘Something’, creating empowering anthems that emphasise the intrinsic worth of every listener within love’s intricate dance.”
On soul-stirring songs like ‘Deliver’ and ‘Not Enough’ he explores his faith journey, discovering profound love and solace through spirituality.
Bryan the Mensah is behind well-received albums like three albums – Friends with the Sun (2017), Wildlife (2018) and Not Going Outside (2020). His sound is heavily founded on hip hop and aims to inspire his audience with impactful lyrics.
In 2020, he founded Blync, a Telegram-supported peer-to-peer sync platform for music professionals. The service, powered by the payment platform Flutterwave, provides artists, producers songwriters, and music representatives with the opportunity to access sync deals for their music.
