Ghana’s Western Music Awards 2020: All the winners

The event, which is in its fourth year, was established to celebrate musical acts who hail from the Western Region of Ghana. It hosted performances from the likes of KK Kabobo, Kofi Kinaata, Ayesem, Nero X, DopeNation, Qwesi Flex, Tilly Mens, Kwabena Lyta, 4mula, Obuju Faya and Laami.

Fameye beat off competition from Don Kweli, SK Frimpong, Navah, Ayesem and DopeNation to win the ultimate title, taking over from last year's winner Ayesem who took home the Rapper of the Year Award. Apart from winning the ultimate award, the 'Nothing I Get' hitmaker also clinched the Highlife Artist of the Year Award.

Other big winners on the night include Kofi Kinaata, DopeNation and Aya Ramzy, who took home the trophies for Most Popular Ghanaian Song of the Year, Group of the Year and Most Popular Regional Song respectively.

Due to ongoing restrictions on social gatherings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony hosted only 300 guests and the proceedings were broadcast live via Facebook and YouTube.
