Ghanaian Afro-fusion artist Gyakie has released her latest single ‘Scar’, featuring UK rapper JBEE. The record is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
‘Scar’ blends R&B and hip hop, telling a story of a failed love while exploring pain and insecurity. The accompanying video was directed by Craig Capone.
“Working with JBEE brought a different dimension to ‘Scar’,” Gyakie said. “For me, this was such a great experience to bring our two sounds together to create a deep yet catchy single that is relatable to audiences across the continents.”
JBEE said: “Even though I was born and raised in London, I’m Ghanaian myself, and I’m so happy we got to collaborate and make this track. I hope the fans love this one seeing two worlds collide.”
Born Jackline Acheampong, Gyakie is the daughter of highlife veteran Nana Acheampong and began her music career in 2019 while in college. She is an alumna of the Spotify EQUAL programme and has enjoyed widespread acclaim since bursting onto the scene in 2019 with her debut single ‘Love Is Pretty’.
Her growing catalogue has amassed more than 150 million streams across all platforms. She has also collaborated with Mayorkun and Major League DJz.
