Weekly music event Industry Nite will on 1 July host the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Lagos, Nigeria. DJ Spinall, fresh from his appointment as ambassador of Smirnoff, will DJ the event scheduled to hold at Spice Route on Victoria Island, Lagos.
Radio personalities Jimmie and Olisa Adibua from Beat FM, Lagos will play host to guests. The event is to celebrate the forthcoming award ceremony by AFRIMA, also holding in Nigeria but at the end of the year. Submissions for the award ceremony are ongoing and will close 20 July. The July 1 Industry Night event will provide attendees with more information about AFRIMA.
Since it began years ago, Industry Nite has become the place for established wait for singers, label executives, brand managers and others in Nigeria to meet, network and have fun. Established by Matthew Ohio, the event holds every Wednesday. Artists performing at the event include: Woju singer Kiss Daniel, Cynthia Morgan, Lil Kesh, Solid Star, Simi, Niniola, Tjan, Rayce, Sunkanmi, Mr 2Kay, Rcube, Dammy Krane, Adekunle Gold, Aramide and others. Guest artists 2face, Phyno, Sound Sultan, DJ Jimmy and Raw will appear as well.
The 2015 AFRIMA ceremony will be broadcast to over 80 countries and is expected to entertain 5000 guests. Submissions can be made here.
