Joburg Reggae Splash announce all star line-up to bring Positive Vybz to SA’s music scene

Reggae lovers are set to enjoy this summer with fans in for a treat with the announcement of a new Reggae Festival which aims to reclaim the genre. This genre played such an important role in liberating Africa with Lyrics that inspired fans into action to become active citizens, often lending its culture to diverse music genres.

The Reggae Splash will kick-off with a Reggae Industry Summit whose agenda is aimed to Engage, Inspire and Develop. The all day workshops will take place on 22 November 2019 at Museum Africa in Newtown with key music industry specialists lined up to offer important business master classes.

The main Reggae Splash festival is designed around three stages at Carfax in Newtown and is organized by Fuse Productions and supported by the Department of Arts and Culture and will take place on 23 November 2019

Roots, Dance Hall, Afro Beat, Hip Hop, DJ’s and Reggae workshops all form part of the planned activities and promises to bring together progressively minded International and African artists that resonates with music lovers.

Going under the theme, One Love Music, the November festival features fan favorites Boom Shaka, 2019 SAMA AWARD WINNER (Black Dillinger), Jeremiah Fyah Ises, Bongo Riot featuring TUMI, Thuthukani Cele and One People Band, who gained acclaim as the backing band for African reggae legend Lucky Dube and Tidal Waves, regarded as one of the most accomplished live bands working in South Africa and a host of acclaimed Reggae Artists

Three distinct stage 1) Roots Stage 2) Dance Hall Stage and 3) Hip-hop- Afro-beat in CarFax will play host to live performances, DJs competitions and much more throughout the day.

“Since reggae has such a huge loyal following and with so few events, the Reggae Splash promises to give the movement a platform that brings in a diverse set of artists to entertain the fans. We’re excited to support a movement where music sets the agenda to create memorable experiences.” says the Festival Organisers, Fuse Africa Group’s Ability Ngcobo.

Tickets for the main concert which takes place at Carfax on 23 September costs R150 at Computicket and ShopRite and R200 at the door. VIP Tickets cost R500.

300 people can take advantage of the limited ticket offering where you can book a ticket for the Reggae Workshop taking place on the 22 November 2019 at Museum Africa. Themed, Reggae on the Rise and in a double whammy your R200 booking will get you into the workshop and a free entry pass to the main concert. In addition you also will receive a free Festival TShirt

Tickets for this special event can be purchased at the door and because admission is limited it will be sold on a First Come First Served basis.
