LANDR acquires Synchro Arts plugin company

Synchro Arts’ Revoice Pro is used by professional musicians and in TV and film studios. LANDR says that Synchro Arts’ multitrack vocal processing features have become the industry standard for vocal timing and pitch alignment for tens of thousands of users around the world.

The company is expected to make the products available through its plugin store soon. The Synchro Arts team will be merged with LANDR’s global team. However, Synchro Arts will continue to develop the existing product lines.

Established in 1994, LANDR offers a music distribution service, a samples marketplace, a plugin store and a marketplace for hiring producers, engineers and promoters, as well as video-chat software that streams high-quality audio from the DAW. It first launched its AI-powered mastering software in 2014, and claims to have more than 3 million users in 160 countries, with over 1 million sounds in the LANDR Samples database. In 2019, the company raised $26m in its Series B round of fundraising, and launched its premium Pro Network in 2020.

“This deal is a natural fit,” LANDR CEO and co-founder Pascal Pilon said. “Vocal processing is a key piece of the music creation process, and with Synchro Arts we have added world-class technology to our platform and world-class individuals to our team. We’re working on something really exciting that will bring the magic of what Synchro Arts has accomplished to a whole new audience.”

In February, LANDR launched a video calling app and plugin called Sessions. The free tool was designed for online collaboration and feedback from music makers in real time and can be used for audio and screen sharing, online music lessons, and demonstrating theory and techniques.
