The 2020 edition of Malawi's Urban Music People (UMP) Awards will be held virtually on 19 December.
The event will be streamed live on local TV, social media and radio, and will host watch parties in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. It will be held as a blended edition featuring music, fashion and media.
A call for entries will be announced on 12 October via the UMP official website.
"This year's event will be bigger and better,” UMP co-director Wisdom Phanga said. “It is our 11th year, hence we have learnt a lot in the last decade."
UMP official Khumbo Finto said: "Prospective advertisers and partners are already in touch, and more are welcome. This year, we have gone the extra mile in our 50/50 female empowerment-sensitive initiative, which we started last year, by ensuring half of the categories are female-focused."
