Malawi’s Gemini Major features top SA artists in a new video

Now based in South Africa, Gemini Major, whose real name is Benn Gilbert Kamoto, revealed the news on his Facebook page, sharing the link of the music video with his 55,000 fans. “Music video now on YouTube,” he wrote.

Titled, ‘Ragga Ragga’, the video was released on 1 October and premiered on Channel O.

‘Ragga Ragga’ was shot by Studio Space Pictures, an award-nominated South African media and film production house based in Johannesburg. The video has since garnered an overwhelming response on social media platforms.

This is the third video the Malawian artist has released this year under the Family Tree Label, a South African independent record label owned by Cassper Nyovest. ‘One Night Stand’ and ‘Badmanting’, featuring Aewon Wolf, are some of the videos he has released this year.

Gemini Major is not only known for his singing. He is also a producer at Family Tree Label and has produced a number of hits, including Nasty C’s ‘Juice Back’. The song saw him being nominated in the Producer of the Year category at the 2015 SA Hip Hop Awards.

Meanwhile, Gemini has also appeared in DJ Switch and Cassper Nyovest’s ‘Ra Phanda Wena Wetsang’.
