Ghanaian rapper drops new video to shot in New York and Ghana.
Ghana's socially conscious and uber-talented Rapper M.anifest continues his trend of producing high quality, creative promo videos, with his latest and first offering of 2015, "Mind Games", from his "Apae" EP, released late last year.
The video, produced by Garth von Glehn of New York based, Film Fam, is tipped to make serious waves, with its interplay of two locations, Accra and New York (the video was shot in New York and Ghana) and is themed on the conondrum of a distance relationship and its complexities. This theme is artfully exploited by von Glehn and syncs nicely with M.anifests now established potent cerebral style.
M.anifest clearly reinforces his reputation as a story-teller and voice for contemporary African youth, not just with this album, but with what can now be described as the critically acclaimed "Apae" EP. It would be fair to say he has come a long way from his debut hit, "No short-cut to heaven" , which featured his talented co-traveller, the Rapper, Obrafour.
From the sound of this, this young man, with a sage's head on his shoulders, has an even longer way to go. We are willing passengers on his journey. A big well done to him.
