Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayra Starr has released a new single titled ‘Who’s Dat Girl’, featuring local Afrobeats star Rema.
The track follows Ayra Starr’s recent hit ‘Hot Body’, which topped Nigerian airwaves for eight consecutive weeks and achieved international success during the summer.
Produced by Ragee and the Elements, ‘Who’s Dat Girl’ combines Afropop and dancehall influences, with both artists delivering melodic and rhythmic performances. The collaboration marks another partnership between two of Nigeria’s most prominent young musicians.
Since debuting in 2021, Ayra Starr has established herself as one of Africa’s leading contemporary artists. She has received multiple nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards and has won several accolades, including Female Artist of the Year at both the Headies and AFRIMMA Awards.
Her 2022 single ‘Rush’ became the most streamed solo song by a Nigerian female artist on Spotify and made her the youngest African woman to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. In 2023, she earned a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance.
Ayra Starr’s second album, The Year I Turned 21, was Spotify’s most streamed Afrobeats album in 2024. That same year, she won two honours at the African Entertainment Awards USA: Overall Best Female Artist in Africa and Best Female Artist in Central and West Africa.
Beginning 2025 as the second most nominated act at the Headies Awards, Ayra Starr continues to expand her international profile, amassing over four billion career streams to date.
