Nigeria: Mr Vibez joins The Plug Publishing

The company, founded in 2023 as part of The Plug Entertainment, aims to “bring music to life and help artists realise their creative visions.”

The move means that Mr Vibez, whose work blends Afrobeat, hip hop and soul, will collaborate with The Plug’s A&R team and publishing experts to manage his music and copyrights.

The announcement follows Mr Vibez’s debut EP, Supernova, released in May. The six-track project, themed around romance and resilience, was released via Nova Records/CiDAR Africa, led by a single titled ‘Headspace’.

At Plug Publishing, Mr Vibez (real name Rowland Dominion) joins fellow signees like producer, songwriter and sound engineer Vynchie and singer-songwriter Locom8tion.

“His music often reflects themes of hope, resilience, and personal growth, with a focus on overcoming life’s challenges,” The Plug said about the artist, who cites his mother and Burna Boy among his key influences.

“With his upcoming project Feeling Station, Mr Vibez continues to share deeply personal stories through music, offering a therapeutic escape for himself and his listeners alike  –  driven by passion and creativity.”

Months ago, discussing his sound with Discovery Deck, Mr Vibez revealed that his stage name “came to me naturally because that’s all I’m about –spreading good vibes and love through my music.” He added: “My love for music is beyond formulas and statistics, to be honest. Regardless of whatever, I just want to create music and be able to push consistently and properly too.”
