Nigerian Afro-pop singer and producer Young Jonn today released a new single titled ‘Shaparlly’, which is available on all major digital platforms.
The track follows his Love Is Not Enough EP series which arrived last year and accumulated more than 55 million Spotify streams and birthed popular songs such as the Davido-assisted ‘Dada’ and ‘Xtra Cool’.
A high-energy Afrobeats offering, ‘Shaparlly’ showcases its author’s distinctive vocal delivery style characterised by a playful but self-assured brilliance.
It also bursts with captivating rhythms and melodies and distinct ad-libs that now complement the artist's signature sound.
Signed to Chocolate City, Young Jonn is among the biggest Nigerian breakout artists from 2022, having garnered over 150 million streams across major DSPs.
His musical journey began in production and was among the most sought-after Nigerian producers in the 2010s , notably due to his efforts with Afrobeats heavyweights including Davido, Olamide, Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Kizz Daniel and Naira Marley, among others.
Last year, following a break from production, Young Jonn returned as an artist, releasing a string of successful songs that have earned him an Apple Up Next Artist accolade, 2.1 monthly streams on Spotify, and nominations in the 2023 Headies in the Next-rated and Best Street-Hop Artist categories.
