Nigeria’s Kizz Daniel drops new album

The 16 - track album was produced by Nigerian producers; Coublon, Phik Keyz, Major Bankz, TY Mix, ATG, Runtinx, Teflon Zinc, Lussh, Sugarboy Fancy, One Sound, Kris Beatz, Fancy, Youngjohn, and Selebobo.

Fans flocked to Twitter to react to the new release. "Finally, We are getting that King of Love album by Kizz Daniel today. I've been patiently waiting for this. I am so hyped and ready for this project," one fan tweeted about King Of Love.

"Just like the Last album you can’t be having 17songs on an Album because it got boring," another wrote. "70% of songs sound alike. There is just three to four good songs. The rest are average. It is a good album but nothing so exceptional."

Between 31 May and 20 June, the singer took to Instagram and shared the meaning behind the songs featured in the new album. He accompanied each poster with a note: "It comes with the power of acceptance. Accept your flaws and your weakness. You need no approval from anyone to be you. Know who you are," he described 'Jaho'. On 'Long Distance Love', he said: "Love will travel as far as you let it. The distance can only matter if love doesn't exist, Aii ?"

The album's global distribution will be handled by the American distribution company and record label, Empire, after the singer signed a publishing and distribution agreement with the company on 19 June 2020.

Kizz Daniel rose to prominence after the release of his acclaimed single, 'Woju', under his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment, in 2013. The singer left the label in 2017 for being prevented from collaborating with artists outside GWorldwide Entertainment. The only time his work was used outside the label was when his song 'Good Time' was redone by Wizkid.

In recognition of his work, the singer has won the trophy for Most Promising Act in Africa at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). In 2016, he won Music Artist of the Year in the male category at the City People Music Award.

Under his Fly Boy INC label that was set up in 2018, Kizz Daniel has signed singer Demmie V, and record producer, Philkeyz, who has worked with Nigerian acts such as Yemi Alade, CDQ, May D, among others.

The new album follows the release of New Era (2016) and No Bad Songz (2018).
