Uganda-headquartered Omziki Distribution today announced a strategic partnership with music streaming platform Audiomack.
The collaboration, which follows the appointment of digital expert Jonathan “Jonilar” Nii Laryea as Ghana country director and brand ambassador, aims to revolutionise the distribution process for content owners by eliminating the need for manual intervention and introducing a seamless process.
Audiomack currently reaches more than 25 million monthly users globally, and the arrangement will see Omziki leverage the DSP’s robust technology platform and vast network of global listeners, allowing artists to effortlessly showcase their talent and expand their fanbase beyond traditional boundaries.
Omziki says the effort also ushers in a shift towards a more artist-centric distribution model, noting that this new approach empowers content owners to focus on what matters most, which is creating exceptional music.
“Omziki Distribution has consistently paved the way for emerging and established musicians in East Africa, enabling them to reach a wider audience through various digital platforms,” a statement from Audiomack reads. “By joining forces with Audiomack, Omziki Distribution enhances its service offerings, ensuring a more efficient and hassle-free experience for content owners.”
“This partnership is a groundbreaking one for Omziki because it satisfies the needs of content owners who have been looking for easy and fast ways to get their music on Audiomack,” Jonilar told Music In Africa, adding that the move is among a series of innovations his outfit is rolling out for the African music sector.
Meanwhile, Omziki’s recent expansion to Ghana forms part of efforts to strengthen its footing in the wider West Africa region, which is already home to similar companies like EMPIRE, ONErpm and Tieme.
